UNE students recognized as Outstanding Future Professionals

主任阿比Bagnoli and Mackenzie伯克 were both honored recently at the Maine 健康, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (MAHPERD) awards ceremony as 2022 Outstanding Future Professionals.

Bagnoli and Burke are seniors majoring in applied exercise science with a minor in coaching. Burke also has a minor in mental health rehabilitation.

MAHPERD is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for all Mainers by supporting and promoting effective educational practices, quality curriculum, instruction in the areas of health, physical education, 娱乐, dance and related fields.

Bagnoli and Burke were nominated by Katie Hawke, M.S., clinical professor in the Department of Exercise and Sport Performance. Hawke serves on MAHPERD’s executive board.

Two UNE faculty members made presentations at the MAHPERD ceremony. 林迪·凯利,B.S., adjunct professor and coordinator of Strength and Conditioning, gave a presentation with Bagnoli and Burke on “The Building Blocks of Writing a Youth Strength and Conditioning Program.”

希斯·皮尔斯,m.s.Ed., RSCC * D, 二者* D, NSCA-CPT * D, ACSM ep c, interim assistant dean of the Westbrook College of 健康 Professions and the director of Applied Exercise 科学, made a presentation on “The Plyometric Conditioning Continuum – If You Can Jump You Need to Land.”

The ceremony was recently held at the Samoset Resort in Rockport, Maine.
